Biography: Bina Rai (13 July 1931 – 6 December 2009), was a prominent Indian actress who worked primarily in Hindi cinema during the black and white era. She is mostly remembered for her versatile roles in classics. During a career spanning 4 decades, she appeared in numerous commercially successful films like Anarkali (1953), Taj Mahal (1963) and Ghunghat (1960), which earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Actress. She retired from acting in 1991, believing that older women don't get satisfactory roles and passed away on 6 December 2009, aged 78.
