Biography: Jack Lyon was one of the last surviving men involved in the mass breakout, popularly known as "The Great Escape", from Stalag Luft III prisoner of war interment camp in March 1944. He served as a lookout during the famous escape, though the tunnel used was discovered before he was able to make his own escape. He died, aged 101, on 8 March 2019.
