Biography: Mark Morrisroe (1959-1989) was a photographer, performance artist, and filmmaker. A pioneer of queer culture in NYC and Boston in the 1980s, he is best known for his portrait photography. His four films (one considered lost) were shot on Super 8 film in his apartment. His friends and collaborators included Nan Goldin and Philip-Lorca diCorcia.
