Biography: Wang Xiaozhen (born 1989; Linyi, Shandong Province) is a Chinese documentary filmmaker. Wang Xiaozhen graduated with an MA in film directing from Northeast Normal University in Changchun, China. He describes himself as a calligrapher, writer, painter, and independent filmmaker. In 2013, he wrote and directed his first feature film "Around That Winter" (2013). Selected as the opening film of the Beijing Independent Film Festival, the film won the Best Debut Film Award at the same year edition of the China Independent Film Festival. Love Poem (2020) is his second feature film.
