Biography: Isaias Badilla is a Costa Rican actor and filmmaker based in New York. He trained at the Taller Nacional de Teatro in Costa Rica and The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. His film work has screened at over thirty international film festivals, including the 2022 Tribeca Festival selection Ñaños. On stage, his New York and international theater credits include Connor Murphy in Querido Evan (Dear Evan Hansen), Jonathan Baransky in the Off-Broadway revival of Dream On, Baransky, and multiple roles in Hamlet. He also participated in the National Playwrights Conference at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center in The Myth of the Two Marcos, directed by Oliver Butler. In 2024, he co-founded Purple Duck LLC, an independent production company through which he has produced award-winning short films, including a recent 16mm project centered on the experiences of immigrant artists in New York City.
