Biography: Edward Shelganov was born in Leningrad in 1971. At the age of 21 he enrolled at the St. Petersburg State University of Cinema and Television in the course of professor Semen Aranovich. Since that time, he began to make movies with graduates of B. Yukhanov’s school, and took part in various festivals of experimental cinema. He graduated from the St. Petersburg State University of Cinema and Television in 1997, and participated in the “Festival of Festivals” 1997 with his graduate project, in Aleksandr Sokurov’s TV program “Island”, in the program screening “Sinefantom” and in the Oberhaus festival. At present, he is working in video art. He has also worked in the fields of photography, screenwriting and poetry.
