After working as an AV idol (AV女優) under the stage name Yūko Kawakami (川上 裕子, Kawakami Yūko), she changed her name to Maki Hamada and mainly appeared in Direct-to-video productions. Not to be confused with actress Maki Hamada (浜田 麻希).
