Biography: Gilberto Passos Gil Moreira (born June 26, 1942) is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, musician, politician, and writer. With a career spanning over six decades, he is known for his significant contributions to Brazilian music and for winning Grammy Awards, Latin Grammy Awards, and the French government's National Order of Merit (1997). In 1999, he was named an "Artist for Peace" by UNESCO.
