Biography: Joseph Hyung-min Son (born November 22, 1970) is a South Korean-born American convicted murderer, as well as a former actor, mixed martial artist, kickboxer, and professional wrestler. He partook in Ultimate Fighting Championship, and K-1 Kickboxing during his combat sports career. As an actor, he is best known for his appearance in the 1997 film Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery. In 2008, he was arrested for forcible rape, kidnapping, and torture in connection to a 1990 cold case after DNA evidence linked him to the crime; there was an accomplice who was also convicted. Due to the statute of limitations, some charges were dropped. In 2011, he was found guilty of torture and sentenced to seven years to life in prison in California. While incarcerated, he was convicted of beating his cell mate to death and was sentenced to an additional 27 years for voluntary manslaughter.
