Undercover federal agent "Tipton" arrives to discover, though, that there are plenty of big noises against the union - not least the ruthless "Plummer" (Harry Woods) who is using every means at his disposal to intimidate the voters and to wreck the proposed plebiscite. Plenty of gunpoint diplomacy and duplicity keep this moving along quite well for just under an hour. Hayes is great as the feisty newspaper editor "Carter", and there is quite an enjoyable contribution from Etta McDaniel too. Jeopardy? Of course not, but it is still fun to watch with decent production standards and plenty of action.
