Overview: Why will people try to be something they are not? Everybody does it. Whiffles does it. He wants to give his sweetheart the impression that he is a fine singer and as he has no voice he employs a capable tenor to supply the music from behind the screen while he makes the necessary facial expressions. In the midst of a song the voice ceases, but Whiffles goes on without it much to everybody's amusement.
