Overview: Ensign Murphy is ordered to his first duty in the U.S. Navy. He learns (often the hard way) the means of transporting himself properly from one assignment to another, the proper etiquette for boarding a vessel, interacting with his superior officers, maintaining his belongings, and conducting himself aboard ship. Other more experienced naval officers help him and correct the many errors he makes.
