Overview: Kenward Elmslie (1929-2022) was a poet, editor and librettist. His poetry is noted for its intersections with art and theater, and has won numerous awards. In 2002, Citizen Film interviewed Elmslie about his life and works, specifically his friendships and collaborations with the New York School of Poets. As the catalyst for this short film project, Elmslie hoped to illustrate the artistic spirit of and collaborations among American writers, poets and artists from the late 50s to today.
