Overview: Spider Barlow and Spike, motivated by a news article about District Attorney Willard Dale giving his wife, Peggy, an expensive necklace, pose as gardeners to case the Dales' home. While the Dales are at a costume party dressed as thieves, Spider and Spike steal the necklace. Willard returns home, is mistaken for a real burglar, and in the ensuing confusion, Spider escapes with the necklace.
