Overview: In the forest, a wood nymph played a pipe of reeds. A faun and his mate emerged from their cavern home. He left his mate, drawn to the nymph's captivating music. The faun's mate, searching for him, heard the nymph's pipes and felt a pang of fear. Following the sound, she found them. Overwhelmed by jealousy and anger at the faun's infatuation, she snatched the pipes and hurled them into the stream, breaking the nymph's spell. The faun, realizing his folly, returned to his mate, and the nymph vanished into the woods.
