Overview: A pair of former blackmailers and opium smugglers, Juliet and George Saltmarsh, have managed to secure passports to escape their past. Their coworker, Burke, is not as lucky and is prevented from leaving Brazil due to the suspicions of Basil North, the American consul. To circumvent North's interference, Juliet attempts to befriend the consul's wife, Erminie, in a scheme to help Burke.
