Overview: The lead character, Sujay, goes to Kolkata for career prospects and is introduced to a rich industrialist. Negotiations begin for Sujay to marry the industrialist's daughter, Polly, and he goes abroad for studies. Back in the village, his wife Vijaya (whom he was forced to marry earlier) is shattered. When Sujay returns, he ultimately declares Vijaya as his life partner.
