Peter Lorre is, again, on good form as the eponymous sleuth. Peter Lorre is, again, on good form as the eponymous sleuth. This adventure sees him in Egypt trying to thwart a cunning plan to cause havoc on the Suez Canal driving a wedge between the French Fleet and the Royal Navy that could cause WWII! It's maybe not the best "Moto" story, indeed its just a bit too far fetched, but as ever he has his dubious doppelgänger and George Sanders ("Norvel"), John Carradine ("Danforth") and the ever-reliable EE Clive add a bit of depth to this light and fluffy, but enjoyable, espionage drama.
