My eight year old self would have loved this if he could get past the wildlife experts repeatedly referring to the ape as a monkey. The most intelligent character in this ridiculous movie is the man in the ape suit. In spite of this movie's strange blend of awfulness and absurdity, I kept watching it to the end. I doubt I'll watch it again.
