Overview: Womanizer Conny and his less successful brother Fred make a lucrative real estate deal on the Côte d′Azur and receive a cheque for 100,000 francs as a down payment. On the train back to Paris, Conny meets the attractive Vera and stays in Monte Carlo for the time being because of her. But Vera and her companion Baroff, a swindler posing as a baron, are on the prowl, and Conny loses the check to Baroff in a game against the supposed baron. When he realizes that he has been tricked, he rushes after the train on which Vera and Baroff are fleeing and has a serious accident. When Vera finds out, she reproaches herself. She meets Conny's brother Fred at the station and falls in love with him. Vera then decides to spend her future with Fred and fundamentally change her life.
