The Crucifixion is a very generic Horror film that doesn't really do anything well in particular. The movie is a weird mishmash of styles, with rural Romanian towns being presented as almost mediev... The movie is a weird mishmash of styles, with rural Romanian towns being presented as almost medieval but with interiors from 1940. The main characters drive modern cars but still use flip phones. The whole set feels disjointed and odd. There are just a few locations being positive exceptions. The religious angle is presented clumsily and lacks any nuance in regards to the motivations and faith of the characters. Some dialogues are presented so bluntly that it seems almost comedic. There is barely any mystery and I'd even say that most viewers will be able to predict how the movie ends after the first half. I can only recommend this to people with an interest in religious or occult horror films.
