Overview: Spring 1990, Berlin: Young Niyazi of Turkish descent works at McDonald's in West Berlin and wants to return to Istanbul as soon as possible. He has heard from a friend that apartments in the eastern part of the city are much cheaper. If he worked in the west but lived in the east, he would have enough money to leave the country a year earlier. With the aim of settling in with her, he goes on a blind date with Klara, a young woman from East Berlin. However, she immediately thinks about the advantages she could gain from the acquaintance.
