Overview: A young man at a party becomes infatuated with Mrs. Francis after she sings for the guests. His father, the host of the party, intervenes, convincing Mrs. Francis to discourage the young man's attentions. The young man, despondent at being turned away, eventually falls for a young woman that is introduced to him, someone his own age. Mrs. Francis comes to realize she truly loves the boy, and her sacrifice, although a right one, hurts her.
