Overview: When rich Jack Talbot falls in love with not-rich Rose Kirby, he doesn't marry her, fearing his mother's disapproval. Rose later marries Clyde Bainbridge, a rotter who knows that under the terms of a secret contract, Rose will inherit the Talbot iron-works. Rose finds the contract but, mistrusting her husband, does not make use of it.
