Overview: The rich farmer Shrnej is such a miser that he won't even marry so he doesn't have to support his wife and won't even allow his servant to do so. He uses his wits and comes up with a ruse - when the farmer goes to town, he sees a girl at the crossroads who sings that she doesn't eat or drink, that she only lives on air. That would be a woman! A hard worker and she wouldn't cost him anything! And so the farmer marries, unaware that he's marrying his servant's sister, who makes a living like everyone else. It's only when he thinks she's been roasted by him that he begins to suspect her. But wherever he hides so he can follow her, he pays the price, and almost loses his life...
