I'm not sure if you can call this a nature show, a cooking show, or a somewhat older coming-of-age film. The Korean remake of this seemed to me to dwell on the mother-daughter relationship. This original Japanese version is about the dishes that are made from local ingredients that mother taught daughter, about the community, and about living in harmony with all things (except cabbage moths). Is it worth watching. Well, I'm a foodie and I believe harmonious. So yes.
