Overview: Just before the massacre of Donkergat during the Anglo-Boer war, Commandant Piet van Kloten buries a fortune in Kruger Rands in the area of the battlefield. So that he would remember where he buried the treasure he draws a rough map. He tears it in half and gives one half to his servant Plaatjies, extracting a promise that he will not let it fall into the wrong hands should he survive the battle.
