Overview: American Cream is a witty and sexy three-part film exploring the themes of role-playing, masking and the masculinity myth. The Office: the executive and underling play out the consequences of America’s sexual politics; the country that promotes a militarist masculinity while suppressing actual homosexuality. Country Lads: a tongue in cheek satire of gay wish-fulfillment; sheriff, lumberjack and itinerant hippies romp around nude in the snow. Roles: a rich and tuxedoed gent picks up a midnight cowboy; they have sex and then exchange costumes, showing that the Snob and the Prostitute are two essentially similar methods of self-delusion.
